| I dabble a bit in different styles of art. I sew. I recently started making Lolita clothing that I sell at the fantastic store One day in Paradise (www.onedayinparadise.com.au/). Often I sell accessories at festivals, such as Royal Doof and Rainbow Serpent. I have been sewing for many years, all self taught. I learned by examining clothing, then just putting piece of material together. Very trial and error. But I'm getting there. I still very critical about my clothing. I mainly make clothing for myself. I often make clothing for friends, I like to see them in it and my best friend is a good tester on how long my clothing lasts. He treats clothing very badly. I have only recently branched out into selling clothes to strangers. I'm often surprised by the response I get from people and can't believe my clothes sell so well. I paint. I haven't had much training with painting or drawing. Any skill I may have is natural...or hereditary. My mum is an artist. She is very talented. Hair brained though. She spends way to much time collect stuff for art, rather than actually making art. My childhood was very creative but very messy. I have only started painting on canvas since Uni. I took a painting class as a elective. My first painting was alright I guess...the colours were really wrong though. I mainly paint on canvas to de core my house. You'll often find art hanging on my walls, all mine. Its the best way to tie in the room. Have control of what goes on the walls. I don't think I'd ever sell my canvas pieces. I photograph. I not very good at it. Ironic because I have a double major at Uni...one major being 'Still Images'. I really haven't grasped Photoshop yet and sadly don't have a darkroom at my disposal. So my images are very raw. I have two cameras, one is a Kodak V610, the other is a Canon 450D. I love both of them....but I'm still trying to work out how to use the Canon. Digital SLR are very different to Film SLR. In my spare time I run a website dedicated to documenting interesting fashion in Melbourne. The photography is very basic. The main focus is the subjects outfit. So I keep the shots raw. Melbourne People are so interesting. There like piece of art walking around.
